An intriguing blend of geographic shape and biological forms by jeweller and artist Charles Wyatt. Charles began working in his family’s jewellery shop at the age of 12 where he developed a passion for fine craftsmanship. Moving to Melbourne in 2008 to extend his contemporary practice and went on to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Gold and Silversmithing) at RMIT University where he received the Maggie Fairweather Gold and Silversmithing Award.

Visual Artist Kate Rohde recently began making jewellery after collaborating with Romance Was Born on their ‘Renaissance Dinosaur’ collection who we’ve also featured on Designer Melbourne.

Inspired by her ongoing interest in merging elements of natural history across zoology, botany and geology, the jewellery features flowers and crystals sprouting together out of cuffs and stalagmites with hooves, paws, antlers and heads.

Kate Rohde is a visual artist who completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2001. Since then she has held several solo exhibitions including a recent exhibition at Pieces of Eight Gallery. Her work is included in a number of public collections including the National Gallery of Victoria, Bendigo Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of South Australia. She is represented by Karen Woodbury Gallery, Melbourne.

Kate’s work is available for purchase through Edition X but be quick, it looks to be vanishing very quickly!

The beautiful artwork and jewellery of Krista McRae is currently on exhibition at the Pieces of Eight Gallery at 28 Russell Place, Melbourne. Called ‘Many Facets’ the exhibition comprises of an art installation and a smaller, more intimate space featuring her lovely gold rings, earrings and necklaces set with fine gems and diamonds as featured above.

The exhibition runs until June 23 so make sure you get along to the gallery before it ends.
